William Herford
William Herford Elkton, MI Michigan Sugar Company Bill Herford is a forth generation farmer and beet grower. Bill and his wife, Barb, have a combined family that consists of five sons, one daughter and nine grandchildren. He farms with a brother, two sons and a nephew. Their crop mix includes 1650 acres of beets, corn, alfalfa, dry beans, soybeans, and wheat. They also feed out 6000 Holstein cattle that are raised from three day old calves. They are a partner in a four farm LLC that provides all the feed and hauls all the manure for a 11000 cow dairy. They are also involved in custom farming and trucking. Bill has been a director on the Michigan Sugar Board since the coop started in 2002 currently serving as Secretary. He has been a member of the ASGA Board of Directors since 2008 and is serving on the Bylaws and International Affairs Committees. Prior to the Michigan Sugar Board he served on the Great Lakes Grower Board for many years. Bill also served on his county Farm Bureau Board, the Elkton Coop Farm Produce Board and his church council.]]>
