Robert “Bob” Mari has been farming in Merino, CO for more than 30 years. He and his brother, Rod operate Mari Bros, Inc., a fully irrigated farm that raises corn, wheat, alfalfa and 650 acres of sugar beets.
They also manage a seed business, trucking business and custom farm additional acres. Bob is fourth generation sugar beet farmer, with him being the second generation sugar beet farmer on their current farm.
Bob has been a member of the Colorado Sugar Beet Growers Association Board since 2018 and the Sterling Local Board
for numerous years. His farmed helped Western Sugar achieve Gold the first year in Sustainable Solutions.
Bob joined the American Sugarbeet Grower’s Association Board of Directors in 2019. Bob previously served 19 years on the local M&M/CHS Coop Board, 5 years on the St. Anthony’s Finance Council, 3 years on the South Platte Ditch Co Board of Directors and is currently a member on the Lower South Platte Water Conservation District Board of Directors, where he has served 15 plus years.
Kristie, his wife of 26 years, works with him and his brother in the family operations. Bob and Kristie have been
blessed with two daughters, Rachel and Rebecca.
